What Will You Do
We will travel north from Vang Vieng to where we will start our kayaking. We will have an introduction to the basics of kayaking and a safety briefing before we set off down the beautiful Nam Song River. We will paddle downstream to Tham None (The Sleeping Cave), which is one of the biggest caves in Vang Vieng. This cave served as a shelter for the villagers during the Second Indochina War. Today it is home to a family of bats and the ‘Magic Stone’ of Vang Vieng. In the rainy season we will need to swim through the entrance to the cave. The final leg of the journey is a gentle paddle which will return us to Vang Vieng just in time to catch the sunset.
approximately 2 hours for dry season , 4,5 hours wet season of kayaking, 2 hours caving
What to expect:
Expect a half day of kayaking and exploring caves. The river is mostly flat with some small manageable rapids. You do not need previous kayaking experience for this tour but you do need to be able to swim 20m unassisted.

Help us to become 100% single use plastic free company!
We try to avoid plastic as much as possible, that is why we encourage you to bring your own refillable bottle.
We have water refillable station at our office where you can fill up your bottle. If you don’t have one we sell the 0,75 L Green Discovery aluminium bottles at our sales office. At the moment we will still need to use plastic bottles in some of our tours but we hope to reduce it as much as possible. Together with The Green Discovery Sustainability Fund we are working on installing water filters in all the villages we are visiting and we hope in the future we will not need to use plastic bottles anymore.
