From here we continue cycling to another village, famous in Laos for its sugarcane and khaolam (sticky rice and coconut milk cooked in bamboo). Here we take a moment to explore the village with our guide, and sample some of this famous snack. We then continue onwards to an ethnic ‘Khmu’ village. Here we will we take a short break while our guide explains some of the history and culture of the Khmu people. We then cycle to our lunch spot, another small village where we can learn about the traditional lives of these villagers.
After our lunch we begin our trekking adventure and start by heading off through rice paddy fields before crossing a stream and entering the forest. We continue trekking through the forest for a few hours before arriving in a Hmong village. Here we learn about the history and culture of the Hmong people before experiencing it first hand by spending the night with a local family as a guest in their house.

Help us to become 100% single use plastic free company!
We try to avoid plastic as much as possible, that is why we encourage you to bring your own refillable bottle.
We have water refillable station at our office where you can fill up your bottle. If you don’t have one we sell the 0,75 L Green Discovery aluminium bottles at our sales office. At the moment we will still need to use plastic bottles in some of our tours but we hope to reduce it as much as possible. Together with The Green Discovery Sustainability Fund we are working on installing water filters in all the villages we are visiting and we hope in the future we will not need to use plastic bottles anymore.
