What Will You Do
Day 1: WATERFALLS, ZIPLINES AND TREE HOUSES
We arrive at the village of Ban Nongluang from Pakse. After the safety instructions from our local guides, we start to hike through coffee plantations and vegetable gardens
until wild semi-evergreen forest gradually takes over. Along the way, the guides explain the plants that are traditionally used in the village kitchen or as herbal medicine. The challenge starts with a breath-taking canopy walkway crossing a steep river valley. Immerse yourself in nature as you make your way through some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Bolaven Plateau to reach the giant ‘Kamet’ fall. Here is where the zip-lines start and the real thrill takes its course!
We then enjoy a lunch break in the wilderness, with a
chance of a cooling swim, before mastering the unbelievable zip-lines circuit to truly become one with nature. An once-in-a-lifetime feeling flying over the majestic waterfall’s valley!
After a day of great activity, we finally settle for the night. Behind a delicious local food and barbecue dinner, we retire into our own tree house almost 10 m above the ground, which are only accessible by a zip-line. An instant cozy sleep shrouded by the fiddling sound of the forest crickets is guaranteed.
Day 2: FLYING OVER THE VALLEY
We wake up amidst the warbling, piping, chirping, twittering of the innumerable birds in the dense canopy around us. A simple European-style breakfast prepares us for an easy 30-minute trek through great forest before reaching the first cable. Be ready for extended flights through the jungle with the longest zip-line of 400 m as a real highlight. Its speed, its felt infinity, the proximity to the usually invisible upper stratum of the forest is an amazing and unforgettable experience.
A picnic lunch is served in the best of nature. We return to the camp in the late afternoon by passing the ‘Red Rock’ stream, where we will have time for some rest and swimming before falling asleep in our tree house for another night.
Day 3: TO THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN
It’s a day of more challenges, but also a day of saying ‘goodbye’! After breakfast, we slowly trek uphill, passing a section of forest where gigantic trees dominate. The trail suddenly ends at a steep rock wall that will draw our next challenge! Enjoy a short but thrilling via ferrata way to reach the top of the mountain.
Once in the top of one of the highest peaks in the area, an
open plateau rewards with stunning views of three waterfalls and vistas over the Mekong deep into neighboring Thailand. We’ll take our lunch here before an easy 1:30 hours hike back to Ban Nongluang, where a car is waiting to bring us to Pakse.
What to expect:
Expect two full days of challenging jungle adventures. The first day is spent mostly hiking and ziplining. This experience
is physically challenging and you will need to have a reasonably level of fitness. The weight limit of our ziplines
is 120 kg.
