What Will You Do

We depart from Thakhek, we will follow an old railway track built by French colonials. This was intended to connect Laos to another French colony of Vietnam but was never completed. We drive past this relic of history and drive through scenes of limestone cliffs to the start of our hike.

We meet our local guide in their village before heading out into the forest. Along the way, our guide will point out forest products which are important food sources for the local people.

We make our way through the jungle to our first cave, which we will have to swim through to explore its 400 meters of limestone structures including remarkable stalactites and stalagmites.

After emerging from the darkness, we have a picnic lunch before we head toward the famous Buddha Cave, which has only recently been rediscovered. The cave contains hundreds of bronze Buddha statues, estimated to be many centuries old.

After exploring this mysterious cave we return to Thakhek through the magnificent ‘Cave Alley’, a road surrounded by limestone cliffs and karsts.

Our water policy

Help us to become 100% single use plastic free company!

We try to avoid plastic as much as possible, that is why we encourage you to bring your own refillable bottle.
We have water refillable station at our office where you can fill up your bottle.  If you don’t have one we sell the 0,75 L Green Discovery aluminium bottles at our sales office.  At the moment we will still need to use plastic bottles in some of our tours but we hope to reduce it as much as possible. Together with The Green Discovery Sustainability Fund we are working on installing water filters in all the villages we are visiting and we hope in the future we will not need to use plastic bottles anymore.
