What Will You Do
We depart from Thakhek early in the morning to head north to the Phou Hin Boun National Park. We will stop at The Rock View Point at Phou Pha Marn, where you can get a better view of the landscape. We continue making our way to Kong Lor Cave – a cave of mystery and legend.
We will walk into the mouth of the cave and jump into our motorboat with a local boatman to cruise up the river that flows through the cave. This 7.5 km underground cruise passes through huge chambers filled with stalactites and stalagmites.
We exit the cave for a quick break in the small village on the other side before returning the same way. Once back at the entrance of the cave, we will have lunch at a local restaurant.
After our lunch, we will travel to the famous limestone forest of Phou Hin Boun where we will hike for around two and a half hours hours through the jungle to reach a waterfall. We will take a break here to enjoy the cool waters and beauty of the area. We will return back to Thakhek in the late afternoon.
Approximately: 6 hours driving, 2 hours boating, 2.5 hours trekking
What to expect:
While a lot of this tour is mostly sightseeing, the trekking does require a reasonable level of fitness. Expect to be hiking on uneven surfaces for around two and a half hours. You may have to walk through water, wear closed shoes that you don’t mind getting wet. Specially in dry season, the weather may be hot.

At the moment we will still need to use plastic bottles in some of our tours but we hope to reduce it as much as possible.
