This tour is a day full of variety: a traditional long-tail boat ride, soft trekking, tubing and even cycling to Ban Pako and its peaceful surroundings before returning, through rural area, to Vientiane.

Itinerary: Vientiane – Ban Somesamai - Ban Pako Resort - Vientiane
In the morning, we will drive from Vientiane to Ban Somesamai. Here, after crossing the Nam Ngum River on a traditional long-tail boat, we reach the village of Veune Thane from where you start a soft trek into the forest nearby and re-embark on the boat to travel down the river to Ban Pako Resort. Luch will be served here in a relaxing and beautiful setting.

We then take a walk around the resort. This site has a very special history and the archaeology of the place dates back 1500 years. Ancient artefacts have bene found all over the area. We still have time for tubing or swimming in the river.

We return, through rural area, to Vientiane in the afternoon.

Approximately: 3 ½ hours transfer / 1 ½ hour trekking

Optional: You can cycle from Ban Pako to the junction with road No 13 - it's 10 km cycling on a dusty road. Additional price for bicycle see below.

Note: Tubes are to be rented from the Ban Pako Resort. They may occasionally not be available, though.
