Depart from Luang Prabang, we drive along the road No 13 toward North of Laos. There is time for visiting to some of the ethnic minority villages. We stop for lunch at Udomxai in a local restaurant.
After lunch, you can take a short walk to visit the town of Udomxai District. We then continue to Muang La and onto Boun Tai for overnight.
Approximately: 8 hours transfer/1 hour walking
After 3 hours drive to the trekking starting point at Nam Ly village of Akha - Eupa ethnic minority, we trek through a remote area until a break for lunch. Our lunch is served on the way at hilly part of the area.
After lunch, we continue trekking through the unexplored area of the of stunning landscape until reaching Lyzyzo village of Akha Eupa for overnight.
Approximately: 3 hours transfer/ 5 hours trekking
Today is the hard part of the trek that leads through a hilly area and nice spots. We stop for lunch en route.
After lunch, we continue our trek uphill for about 3 hours. A few stops can be made nearby streams along the trek. Roma village is reached in the late afternoon. We spend the night at this village.

After an early get up, we start trekking at around 8:00am. Our trip will continue through the isolate area until we meet Akha - Eupa Mujy. At the top of the mountain, we stop for lunch.
After lunch, we continue to Ban Nam Ly for transfer 4 hours to Phongsaly where we spend another night.
Approximately: 4 hours transfer/ 6 hours trekking
After breakfast, we drive from Phongsaly to Hadsa Neua. From here, we take tong-tail boat ride on scenic Nam Ou River to Muang Khua. It takes about 5 hours. A picnic lunch style will be served along the boat ride. We spend the night overnight in a guesthouse at Muang Khua.
Muang Khua is the closest town toward Laos – Vietnam border, Tay Trang which is recently open to tourist.
Approximately: 40 minutes transfer/ 5 hours boating
After breakfast, we embark to sail down on Nam Ou river from Muang Khua to Muang Ngoi, The long tail boat ride allows us to visit local villages nesting along the river sides. A picnic lunch is served on the river side. We have many opportunities to enjoy the beauty of the river landscape.
We eventually arrive in Muong Ngoi, a small town surrounded by beautiful scenery and lime stone. We stay overnight in a local guest house.

End of 6 days tour (drop off at Tay Trang border): For the 6 day tour option, transfer (without guide) is arranged from Muong Khua and we drop you off at Tay Trang (Laos – Vietnam border), 3-4 hours. The road is rough. Only Songthew – local truck is available for this route. River crossing is expected in the rainy season. Dien Bien Phu City (Vietnam) is just another 1 hour ride from the border. After breakfast, we continue sailing down the Nam Ou River. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant before we arrive to Pak Ou Cave. The Nam Ou River fits the Mekong, facing infamous Pak Ou Cave or Tham Ting.
After visiting the cave, we continue our boat trip on Mekong River to Luang Prabang. There is time to visit some of the villages a long the Mekong River. We may have an opportunity to enjoy the sunset while sailing downstream. Upon arrival, we have a transfer to hotel.
