We depart from Green Discovery Laos office in downtown Luang Prabang. We first cycle down hill to the boat docking station to cross the Mekong River by boat to the other side of Luang Prabang called Ban Xieng Man village. We then cycle to Ban Na Kham known for growing sugarcane and cooking sticky rice in bamboo stick. There is time to have a look around and maybe sample this snack. We continue to Ban Houay Tan (Khmu village). Lunch is prepared by our local cook.
After lunch, we cycle to the surrounding area of Ban Chan Neu to see how pottery is made and head to Ban Peaw for the night.
Approximately: 5 hours cycling

After breakfast prepared by local family, we cycle through rice paddy field to Ban Na and stop for lunch at Ban Somsisomphou where we walk over to a spot something that defies youth. Believe it or not, it is a superannuated and aged mango tree that is over 500 years old! After feeling young again, we transform from biking to trekking. Surpassing some rice fields, we then cross a stream. Trekking about 2 ½ hours up hill through Ban Mok Prai (Hmong village), we finally arrive to Ban Phou Luang Tai (Hmong village) where we will stay over night in the eco-lodge of SNV.
Approximately: 4 hours cycling/ 2 ½ hours trekking
Following breakfast, we start our last day trek that passes the forest to Ban Houay Pong (Khmu village) to relax and have lunch at the hall sustenance by SNV. We then continue to Muang Kham village that produces riverweed (only in the dry season). From here, we take a 20 minutes boat ride back to Luang Prabang.
Approximately: 3 hours trekking/ 20 minutes boating
Note: In the wet season, the road can be very muddy.
