Departure at 08:30 from your hotel towards Ban Nakhai where we will arrive around 90 minutes later. After some instructions on how to lead your kayak and about safety issues, it will be time to jump into your kayak to start our down river.
Progressively, you will warm up and leave the village on our right to enter into some magnificent natural areas. We will paddle down the river sliding between the vegetation, sand banks. After a short distance within luxurious vegetation, you will take your rhythm on the river amazed by the surroundings before enjoying a picnic lunch along the river or on an island (depending of the level of water) and taking time to swim and relax.
In the afternoon, we will pursue our itinerary through one of the most beautiful landscape you can meet: the river slides between limestone reliefs on a couple of kilometers. The Xe Bangfai will offer you a unique circuit in the heart of the karstic region. You will be surrounded by forests and huge cliffs and peaks such as Pha Nongkagnoy and Pha Pakgnom. On your way, you will probably meet local fishermen and observe them on duties or just enjoy the smiles of kids swimming into the flow of the river.
The kayaking trip ends at Ban Dang, a nice village settled on the bank of the river where our truck will be awaiting for us. 30 minutes on a bumpy trail will lead you to the main road to get back to Thakhek.
Approximately: 1 ½ hour transfer/ 5 hours kayaking.
Note: The trip is doable in the dry season from October to May.
